I have to say one of the best parts of having a kid who adores reading is the recommendations. My girl has some killer taste in book selection. If you asked her to describe her perfect day it would be at home, curled up with blankets, a cup of hot chocolate and a stack of books.

This year she challenged herself to read 50 books! As of today she has currently read 41 and is confident that she'll make her goal. I asked her to pick her top 10 so I could give some recommendations to anyone who is looking for some Christmas gift ideas for their teen. I have read a few of them and must admit the girl has great taste, there is a solid mix of genres that would appeal to all readers.

She did give a couple of honourable mentions because limiting her to 10 was a tough challenge. The title Daughter of the Pirate King, by Tricia Levenseller, was one of my favourites. I devoured it.

Her number one pick was If We Were Villians, by M.L Rio
